We are hiring experienced Class A CDL Drivers for a dedicated, full-time local opportunity based out of Windsor Locks, CT. This position offers excellent earning potential, consistent routes, and daily home time in a high-demand grocery delivery operation.
This role is ideal for drivers looking to maximize earnings while staying local and running steady multi-stop routes.
Position Highlights:
- Average annual earnings of $90,000 to $100,000
- Mileage pay ranging from $0.50 to $0.52 CPM
- Full-time position with consistent local routes
- Home daily
- Strong stop pay and activity-based earnings
Route Information:
- Operating within a 250-mile radius of Windsor Locks, CT
- Deliveries primarily to NYC boroughs (80–90% of routes), plus NJ, MA, VT, RI, NH, ME, PA, and upstate NY
- Multi-stop grocery deliveries (typically 2 to 3 stops per trailer)
- Average of 12 stops per week
- Mix of live unload, drop and hook, and liftgate deliveries
- Backhauls and product returns required
Schedule:
- Various schedules available
- Optional 6th day available for additional earnings
- Consistent daily schedule with steady workload
Compensation:
- Mileage-based pay of $0.50 to $0.52 CPM
- $85 daily rate (must work full scheduled week to qualify)
- Stop pay:
- $17.25 per standard stop
- $30 per driver unload or liftgate stop
- $47.50 per NYC borough stop
- $17.50 drop and hook pay
- $15/hour for safety training
- Off-account work pays $160–$450 per day
Driver Responsibilities:
- Deliver grocery freight using electric pallet jacks
- Handle multi-stop routes including NYC deliveries
- Operate liftgate equipment when required
- Maintain accurate paperwork and delivery schedules
- Provide strong customer service at store locations
Requirements:
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum of 3 months driving experience
- Ability to handle physical unloading when required
- Must be comfortable delivering in NYC boroughs daily
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the terminal
- Strong work ethic and customer service skills
Equipment:
- Automatic day cab trucks (slip-seat operation)
- 45’–53’ trailers with liftgate capability
- Newer equipment (average 3 years old)
